Yes, that was a some pictures of her coming down the Caledonian.Looks fore like the Caley canal
Built by a Spanish yard in 51 (or it might be 53... cant remember) though there are conflicting reports that she was actually built in greece. Not verified in any way shape or form there though.@vilguy can you tell us a bit more about her history please?
Who designed her, who built her, construction material etc?
I found her Facebook page with Google -
Sailing SV Andorina
Hello, I am the new owner, and I would be more than happy to speak with you about ANDORINA. Please send me pm.I took over as captain in the late eighties in Gibraltar after she returned from the carribean. We went as far as Croatia and Venice before returning to Gibraltar to replace the rotting teak deck with plywood. Next year corfu , corinth, north aegean to the halkidiki and turkey before returning to Malta for the winter where I left.
Interesting boat. Forward bilge filled with bitumen and horsehair. Presumably because the garboard strakes were leaking. Aft accommodation was resting on the prop shafts!
No reverse thrust and the props were mounted on the wrong handed side. Made parking stern to an interesting challenge.
I retired and became a harbourmaster!
