Andiamo Cruise Report (Sant Carles to Altea Oct 2018)

This is a good photo of the area. There are actually anchorages immediately adjacent to the marina (north - Cala Mascarat and south l'Olla) plus some in the far distance to the south of Altea (just before you go around the headland to Benidorm).

That's a fantastic view of the coastline that I couldn't see before. Thanks.

Is that sea moss all along the coast line which you can't lay your anchor onto or just darker as its deeper ?

The dark areas are seagrass.

There are anchoring restrictions in the area in the photo. The bay immediately to the north of the marina does allow anchoring but the anchor and chain must be over sand (not weed). You can also just about make out some white buoys that you can use FoC but you need to be <12m.

If you send me your email address I can send you the chart that shows the areas where you can anchor.

Thanks,

I also looked at Moraira and Javea marina's too. Both nice but Greenwich seemed more in keeping with the feel and vibe of a place that I would like. Fingers crossed Rosa comes through.

Regards to care, it's Andrew Page who I was recommended to use and who I arranged to visit and see other boats in his custody as part of my due diligence on this. He looked after a Riva owned by a friends' acquaintance there, for a few years before it was sold only recently and moved hence me thinking there's an ideal space appeared for me but that didn't happen.

Appreciate the feedback and will certainly let you know if I get lucky.
I've said this lots of times before but have you looked at Sant Carles. It wasn't for Pete but there are lots of benefits. Especially if you like cruising the Balearics as it is only a 100 mile crossing. We do it regularly. The biggest benefit is the cost - a fraction of the prices in the islands. We also have a large lagoon right outside the marina. Good facilities - swimming pool and club etc - walking distance from the town.
Also our own boatyard where you can work on your own boats if you like.

See this video for the kind of thing we do

Thank you.
That was a great 3 wks trip. The kind of times i do hope to have myself, the current world permitting.

Marina Greenwich came highly recommended and a trip to it and the surrounding area confirmed that it is lovely, for also when not about the boat. That is important to us.

What is the area like around Sant Carles, pleasant, decent towns and shops etc ?

Mallorca spoils you until you wake to what you are spending each month just to park (when that matters to you of course), but finding equally pleasant surroundings is important too.
