Its part of growing up, tricks that were great fun for the lads all of a sudden become unacceptable to many older folks.

Same happened to me in a remote part of a busy harbour earlier in the season, there I was on the plane (low tide between two mud banks), no moored boats , not thinking I m doing any harm at all but it went down like a ton of bricks with the Moody owners rally I had been invited to join.

Why? If there was nobody around, what was the problem, or did the wash carry on for a bit and upset people in the distance?

It was a narrow channel, mud flats both sides , no one else in it, wash just got absorbed by the sloping bank, I didnt see any harm in it at the time but regulations are regulations and I now realize I shouldnt have done it in the company of the Moody owners rally.

The point I was making really is what is acceptable to one group isnt always acceptable to another and as we age we need to modify our behaviour especially if some of your peers are considerably older than you are, Im sure everyone used to speed if they are honest even if they now find it unacceptable.

A good idea, ill thought through.
As it happens, with the right boats we still plan to run videos of their easy handling and also walk throughs where possible.
One poster (Firefly I think) pointed out that anything to try and stand out from the crowd is good initiative and this is all we hoped to do. Obviously we handled it badly.

For those that continued the witch hunt after office hours, well that's a little unfair and to demand the videos are taken down "now" at quarter to two in the morning is a little beyond my abilities, but after seeing the offence caused and realising the silliness of the actions they were deleted as soon as I arrived at my desk this morning.

Keep the videos up, they are good to see the handling of the boats, so it was in the wrong place....on here you will get stringed up for anything
