And you wonder why motorboaters get a bad name?

Gary, do you honestly think Poole Harbour would've given permission for that inside the moorings?

All I can say is I am glad I moved out!

:D

Continued from last post...

However, after discussions with the harbour master we have agreed to continue making the videos, but in season they will be shot more appropriately out in the bay.

We agree that these "demos" are probably a little over the top, but they have been done at the far end of the moorings with no boaters anywhere nearby and with no danger to anybody. They are also at far lower speeds than the camera suggests. The idea was to simply show these boats in the environment that they are supposed to be in and from convenience the far end of the moorings was handy.

Well that's all right then. Out of season of course the owners of the yachts being trashed won't mind will they

Such behahiour deom an dealer is just totally out of order :(

What a stupid place to do it. Let alone the wash and nuisance, if he'd have lost any control, he would have almost certainly gone through another boat - total pratt.

Where is the other thread jb?

The quote is from the youtube comments under the video, not from the forum.

@cawkett Agree... What a truly twattish thing to do. How you could presume there was "no danger to anybody" without checking each boat in turn for people down below I have no idea, never mind the risk of damage to boats and moorings.

I have never seen such flagrantly anticosial and idiotic behaviour. I wonder if Parkstone Bay Yachts know of this

That was filmed in amongst some of our Parkstone YC moorings in Poole. There IS a speed limit of 10kts (which is absurd but that is what it is) in the harbour between April and October but anyone with any common sense would know the antics in that video are not acceptable amongst moorings. How does he know if anyone is on board or not? Just what you need when you are maybe head down in the engine compartment changing a filter or in the galley pouring boiling water into a teapot.

Still I suppose it shows the kind of customer he thinks is his target market. It also illustrates pretty well why some yotties might(unfairly) regard all mobo owners as inconsiderate idiots.

If we were all like that Robin you'd be justified!

It's a good thing that we're not :)

I know that and I'm a mobo owner now too, albeit in Florida! :)

That was filmed right in front of PYC marina so in full view of all the yotties that were around at the time plus anyone in the yard or in the clubhouse. Potentially he has demonstrated what a first class prat he is to a huge number of people and I'm disappointed the Harbourmaster wasn't more critical.

Bet the kill cord wasn't connected! Can't believe he puts himself across as a "responsible" dealer. What a prat! All respect for Nauti Business now gone.

I tend to put them in that category, rightly or wrongly, until I get to know them. Have come to learn that they are not all inconsiderate ****wipes. As with everything just a few cause the problems & the rest get tared with the same brush. Trouble is until you do get to know them you dont know what brush they have been using.

Film promo or not the helmsman should have known better................
