And yet another where were we?

I haven't a clue, but assuming that your clock was right it was early evening, so looking westish and therefore the north coast of somewhere. It is not anywhere I know on the near Continent, so maybe northern Spain, 11 years ago.

La Coruna.

Absolutely, we started off from Aberaeron intending to go to the Azores, hit severe weather in the Celtic sea (55-60kt winds) our Autohelm was drowned and with a two man crew we decided that we needed to replace it for the long trip, made a run for it into Kinsale where we eventually managed to find a replacement Autohelm, but were stuck there for three days, started off again but after 4 days with winds in the 'wrong' direction we started to run out of time as we thought we still needed a further 6 weeks to get to the Azores and back and as we both had to return to work we decided to 'turn left' and go to Spain instead, La Caruna was the first port we made for.
Attached is a shot of the boat and crew in the new La Caruna marina which was not fully open but served our purposes well for a couple of days.

I was last there in '87, on a trip to the Canary Islands. Two things I remember about the place: the amount of hypodermic needles on the street and woman with bowed legs caused by rickets. Strange the things we remember.

"Here's to swimin' with bow legged wimin"
