Well, lift out today went smoothly. Bottom a bit dirty but came off nicely with the jet washer. Spent the whole day cleaning to get her ready for polishing during the weekend, outboards service next week and then start the ceramic coating next weekend. Hopefully I will only spend 3 weeks out. One of the crane fellas told me a hack I did not know. Limescale remover gets the dirt, muc and limescale from the hull and outboards like magic. I literally wetted the surface, rubbed gently with a microfibre towel and rinsed thoroughly.Leaves the surfaces shiny and the water beads beautifully.

Oxylic Acid.
Still possible to buy online if you search carefully.
500g Xtals should do the job. Dilute with washing up liquid and water . need a nice thick syrup , to stay on vertical surfaces long enough to do its magic.

Well you will spend more than 3 weeks out of the water. Penton Craning is closed from 28th April until beginning of May for maintenance. Mark who operates the crane etc is always super helpful.
I'm booked to go back in on 20th.

Ahhhh, I am booked for the 24th but I have good news. They postponed the service until September due to the huge demand to go back from people already on the yard.

They have that crane and one of those cradles on wheels that can go into the water via the ramp although I only noticed it on Wednesday, I have never seen it before.

We are out at the moment, at Darthaven , they send you a video of it when out and when being jet washed , so you can see how much crud is on it.

That is nice. I have always made the effort to be there when they lift the boat or put it back in the water. On my previous boat they would even put it in the water and whilst being suspended, they would allow me to get on board and check for leaks before removing the straps, which I thought was jolly decent.

Crane with a spreader is more useful because they can lift boats with much wider beam like a catamaran
Boat lifts can fit cats, and are safer when windy , but crane fine. And yes I worked for a marine crane company.

...the other advantage of a crane is that it can lift a boat from along side...whereas a boat lift needs a custom built channel
