\"and she fly\'s\" the new boat (pictures)

haven't been on here for a while
have spend much time on the new boat
and have been earning money for the fuel
but I owe this to the forum as this boat is chosen with lots of advice from forum members.

This Karnic 2660 2xVP D3-190SX (LOA 8.7M) was delivered in june, she doesn't look so good as the new Magnum, but nevertheless sinds it delivery we had lots of fun with her, and the boat is perfectly fulfilling our whishes:

- walkaround model
- large open rear deck (for diving)
- dual inboard diesel engine,
- mid cabine
- and still trailable (we drove around 6000 km'ers with her till today) we are slightly over maximum weight, total weight of trailer + boat + accesories, without fuel is 3700kg
we did a lot of extra mods ourselves a.o. alluminium radar arch, convertible sunbed / table on rear deck, custom made canopy, (with canopy the boat can sleep 6 people), .....

I am very happy with the D3's, very powerfull and sporty behaviour,
cruising smoothly at
20kn 2500 RPM
or
25kn 3000 RPM
full throttle
40kn at 4200 RPM

I am not retired and still have a business to run, I am living at 200km distance from the closest see, but nevertheless have 120hrs on the counter,
We have been in Kroatia, Northsea, holland, and within 2 weeks we go to SOF Cassis.

I am sorry that we have not many action pictures.

Where can I get crew that dress and look like that? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I rather like the Karnic. Your phtos show how versatile it can be. Nice to see some photos with some sunshine too

Re: \"and she fly\'s\" the new boat (pictures)

Well done, nice boat, pictures and report. Not a bad advert either.

Definitely does show the versatility of the boat and you certainly made the most out of the cockpit space. I think she looks best travelling faster as she flattens out more.

Hope you have some more good seasons with her.

Very nice boat! She looks like a mini Safehaven! Lovely deep V bow.

Congratulations, and thanks for posting.

Re: \"and she fly\'s\" the new boat (pictures)

Yes Roger you'r right, at 25 to 30 knots she travels best, and has the best position on the water,
probably due to a lot of weight on the stern, 2 engines and many crew.
Unfortunotly no pictures at that speed
For Skiing, speed is not above 20kn, so she doesn't flat out, Should use more the trim tabs probably, didn't think of this,
until now I have been using the trim tabs only to level ballance between left and right
boat is quite sensitive for uneven weight distribution between L and R

Re: \"and she fly\'s\" the new boat (pictures)

Any pics of interior? Nice looking boat, nice and practical

I dare you to try and beat my 380engine hours which I clocked up between April - October 2007! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: \"and she fly\'s\" the new boat (pictures)

Unfortunotly I am not able to challenge your engine hours, I am at my max limit, considering the business, family, weather, ...but I would really like if I could /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Will send pictures of the interior at later date, don't have time today, need to prepare the boat for the weekend, probably the last nice boating weekend in Benelux this season. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: \"and she fly\'s\" the new boat (pictures)

Fantastic!! You have captured just what a boat should be used for...fun, fun & fun. Not only are your pictures good and the ambiance they portray, the boat itself looks good and clearly rides well - a nice dry ride no matter what the weather.

Yes, we do all like to see the "big lads" out and about but don't forget, 99.9% of all boating is portrayed in the pictures you have posted here.

Well done, and I hope that you, your family and friends enjoy many happy seasons with her.
