We not sailed along the Athens coast for some years , but I can't remember it being so dirty , some going to think I making this up but I promise I not , every 100 mts or so there plastic, paper , cardboard bottles and carry bags , I tell on lie , in places we coming across what can only be described as a rubbish tip out at seas , there no doubt a lot of this stuff is being thrown over board from boats.
You really need to see it to believe it .

Have to say once we left the Athens coast if got better , not sure why but out of all the Med country's we sailed and we almost done them all now , Greece have been one the worst , shame as it's a lovely country to sails ,
Croatia one of the cleanest,
One of our surprises is In Tunisia , the Marina not only are they out every day picking up every bit of scrap from the Marina and water but the cleaners even take the bins of the post and wash them out .
There a group of liveaboard in Greece who go out every Tuesday and collet rubbish , it's a shame their efforts are wasted .
