I hope the nice lady from the Environment Agency released the sea horse in a proper manner by flicking it into the river with her ruler.

For god sake do not tell the residents on the river thames at Maidenhead about these little critters..because they will be breeding them in there bathrooms to release into the river and that will stop all navigation in the breeding season ..:D

Actually, this could be positive....ie. the "RARE" seahorses are far from rare therefore have survived just fine in the current environment and no extra measures are needed.

Don't tell the nice lady at the Environment Agency they are quite common,,otherwise she will have to go of and find another species to get exited about...:D

I trust they will have the common decency not to clog my water filters.:(

No one believes me!

I bet most of you think I am making this up; but I am not!

Back in July 2010 (last summer) I was mooring my boat near Kew, I looked into the water and saw a big seahorse (about 10cm).

I thought it must be a rubbish or something looks like a seahorse, but then I saw another one, and it was actually moving!

They have been living there for a while!

Which side of going to the pub was this before or after......:)

crabs to you sir !

there are quite a few alien invaders up our rivers, have got nice picture somewhere of a mitten crab residing in the lock cut wall at Allington, plus of course a "liberated" terrapin just below the very same lock.

I haven't seen any for a while though...
