I draw 1.5m and am thinking of anchoring overnight in the small sandy bay a little way inside (to the Sth East) the sand bar at the mouth of the Yealm (east along the leading line transit to round the bar). Low tide tonight is 1.2m and least depth there on my chart is 0.9m, and there's a lovely "recommended anchorage" symbol right there also - wind is coming from the East/Sth East - as is the swell - so all looks fine, but I guess sandy bottoms move... any local knowledge of holding? Anything else I should know? Will I need to set an alarm at tide turn to check our swing?
I have a CQR btw.
TY!
(PS. can still count number of overnights at anchor on my fingers so go easy on me!!)
