anchor marking tips ?

Yep, the coloured inserts worked for me too.

I had mine marked with snooker colours..........................

Red = 1 = 10m

Yellow = 2 = 20m

Blue = 5 = 50m

And combination of these between.............

Possibly a mis-spent youf !

Wondered how long it would be!! (oops)
You can tell i havnt played for years.

For those confused it should be... Red, Yellow, GREEN, BROWN, Blue, Pink, Black

Marked at 5m intervals.
PS if you think of the chain in Metre lengths with the depth sounder in Feet, then by using the same number, you get an easy (rough) 3:1 scope.

ie: 15 ft depth = 15m chain.... seemples!

Coloured chain marker inserts, there great!

Just tell swmbo the colour you want!

I have a group of 5 markers at the following intervals:

Red 5m
Yellow 10m
Green 15m
Shame they didn't do a brown.....
Blue 20m
Multicolour 25m

Could start again from then, but rarely need to anchor deeper than this permits!

Just check once a year and replace MOB's (Markers Over Board)....

Been teaching for a few years and all my students have adopted the same way of remembering the chain colour code. once told they always remember. Chain is marked in 5 mtr intervals with a red and yellow band at the point where the anchor touches the water then five meters then after.

Red= Rub 5m
Yellow= Your 10m
Blue= Balls 15m
white= with 20m
Green= Grease 25m
