over here garden suppliers have on/off electric eyes for 12 volt yard lights for around $15.00 US that can be wired to control anchor lights.

Are they designed for use on 12v dc systems?

If so, then, yes!

yes, they are for 12vdc....ha.rdest job is blocking outside lights

Bedazzled in uk, do light sensitive LED bulbs, £7.5 each, with twin or single conductor B15D or S fittings. I have one in my anchor light, brilliant and very low consumption.
