Anchor--how close.?

Hello,
Is this right, too close, or too far away.
The anchor falls forward on the tipper at first, then drops vertically.
I would like it half the pictured distance if it's practical.

errmmm, you do know your anchor is upside down in that picture ? Either that or I bolted mine together the wrong way up :)

If it's all solidly secured already, I'd leave it; and remember you may well be playing with the anchor pitching in waves when it will do its' best to clobber the boat.

On the plus side, if you're thinking about berthing fees and length, I believe the Frigate 27 is actually 26' LOA ? If so, get in the habit of quoting that, and forget mentioning the class name !
 
The problem with close overhangs is pecking.
The tip of the fluke pecks at the bow owing to movement when sailing.
There are two solutions, either a pecking plate ( a stainless steel protection plate to avoid pecking damage) or a lashing (a rope securing the fluke).....I hope that helps.
