Anchor / Deck wash pump

Hi, Has anyone fitted an Anchor/ deck wash down pump recently?
I’m in the process of doing this, there’s quite a variety of self priming auto shut off pumps available. I’m considering the lower cost diaphragm type with shut off pressure of around 40psi and a delivery of around 3 gpm (gallons per min) . There’s a larger version of this type that has shut off pressure of around 70psi and 6gpm. So I’m in two minds which would be best. The delivery hose from the pump outlet will be around 10m.

If you are using sea water go big

Hi, Thanks for getting back, yes it’ll be a sea water wash down. I think you’re right better to go for the larger pump. Most seem to have adjustable pressure setting so that gives an option to wind it back a bit if necessary.

My boat already has factory outlets at the bow and stern. It's better to get a more powerful one, as it makes washing the anchor chain easier when the pressure is higher and there is enough water.

Hi Thanks for getting back, I’ve gone for a Seaflo 42, 55psi cut off. So should be powerful enough to get rid of the chain/ anchor mud and clean the decks.
Choice turned out to be more limited than I thought, not all are suitable for salt water.
Happy to provide more information if anyone is thinking of doing similar.
