Anchor chain catching on gyspy

You could make up a spare rode, some chain, some textile. The length of chain you would use will depend on what you can comfortably carry and deploy from a dinghy. You carry a spare anchor (of a performance as good as your primary) you need a rode to use it. One day you might lose your rode (been there done that) or you might want to anchor in a 'V'.

If you ever use shore lines a couple of lengths of chain to go round trees or rocks is better for your shore lines that tying direct to the trees or rocks.

Clean the chain, instructions earlier in the thread, oil it (diesel) and store in a lidded bucket.

If you have Sea Scouts nearby - they might welcome the donation.

Its worth almost nothing as scrap and not much use to anyone, except as part of a spare rode, in Europe as 99.9% will use metric chain.
