Self launching cantilevered setup at the bow.
Now has a self launching anchor and the odd fender is gone.

Works very well, but the chain gets pulled sideways out of the lower roller. Only a dodgy loop prevents the whole lot needing manual help.
Looks to me it would be better if the chain emerged from some sort of restrictive 'tunnel' at the bow.
Does that exist ?

(Yes i know i need a chain hook and bridle)

Yes, my boat has a restrictive tunnel. Such a thing exists, if that is the question. Looks like not a difficult chrome work for your setup.

Not sure if I see it correctly, but, should the piece of SS with the "white" fender not be horizontal with another bolt through the holes in both parts?

Hi
Had a similar problem on the old mans boat.
I'm pretty sure the anchor will have a hole drilled near the end where the shackle and chain connects and so should your stainless guide piece ? We had to drill another hole closer to the shackle to give it the right tipping balance for self launching.

I think that when at anchor the lower roller plays no part and shouldnt touch anything. it only comes into play just as the anchor seats in its stowed position. Its job is to stop the anchor swaying about when not in use.
