I have just sold my boat using Ancasta Yacht Brokers and it has been a 100% good experience.
The boat was in a place called Port Balis about an hours drive from Barcelona where the brokers are based. To compound the problem I live in Ronda & Marbella which are are a flight or days driving away.
Ancasta visited the boat on many occasions in order to resolve issues as well as to do viewings.
Within a couple of weeks of registering with them I had two offers and more viewings in the pipe line. They organised the haul out survey, sea trial and putting her back on her mooring. Ancasta negotiated between my very nice purchasers and myself in a polite and courteous way and I ended up with a deal that I felt was totally fair to both parties.
I had previously had the boat with one of the mass franchise UK brokers, also with a base in Barcelona, and although their commission rate was half that of Ancasta it was very much a case of pay peanuts get monkeys!
For them to do viewings was a major deal as they did not want to drive to the boat and on several occasions passed the viewings onto a local Port Balis broker who spoke no English. They got an offer on the boat, used a company in Barcelona that were not proper surveyors to do a pre purchase inspection that was factually inaccurate on several issues. the subsequent negotiations were most unpleasant resulting in my walking away from the deal.
i write this with no commercial connection with Ancasta other than as a satisfied customer and as perhaps a word of warning about some franchise yacht brokers who are not always on top of their game
