We had a visit from Mr X, who resides in Cambs, but berths in Kip with a 31' boat for the bargain price of £3.5k.
Because we had a day of non sailing on Saturday, he wanted to go look at East Coast marinas to compare prices.

I think we were all a bit shocked to learn how much cheaper our berthing is down here.
The Tollesbury/Fambridge/Burnham Yacht harbour/Bradwell were all in the £2.2-2.5K bracket, surprisingly close in cost given their relative attractions and merits.
Bridgemarsh of course was only £1.7k

So, the next time you get your berthing invoice, close your eyes and think of Kip & Largs, then just smile.

I just got my moorings invoice for the next quarter, £331 for a 31' stinkie, admittedly I am well and truly inland and have to spend 2 days to get to the wash(but there are pubs en-route:rolleyes:) but after leaving the boat on the norfolk broads for a few months this year I don't think I could cope with the constant travelling every weekend to use the boat(bloody A11), 10 minutes walk from home suits me fine:D
