Several posts (including mine) have mentioned the Hurley 22. There is also a Hurley 24 (the 24/70) by the same designer: not as pretty as the 22, and fewer of them about, but a lot more room inside.

Welcome to the forums.
That one was built in 1981. The Sadler25s were produced from around 1978 until I think ~1984 when they were replaced by the Sadler26.

I've sailed a fair few times on a friends' triple keel Trident 24; while not a rocket ship she goes much better than I expected, is sea kindly and has a good interior - and she's a very pretty boat - just try to get one which has recently been re-engined.

As a Trident owner I'd go with that all the way, I still think they are one of the prettiest boats of their size, though as Seajet says, get one with a modern engine. In 60 years boat ownership I always changed after 3- 4 years for 'something better' . I have my tridenbt 12 years now, and no thought of selling her!

+1 for the good old Trident, sails well and has a reasonable amount of room below, looks nice to the sailor with an eye for classic yachts, also very good owners association.

Tinker Liz was indeed a centreboard version, there were also fin keel ones, bilge keelers are ACTUALLY centre ballast keel plus bilge plates, owned one called Chuvoso,for many sea miles in the 1970s.

It's an Achilles. Built like a brick outhouse, reasonable to buy. Can be renovated easily

Having once owned a bk Hurley 22 and then later observed the performance of a duette's fin keeled sister the sonata, I would go for the duette and enjoy the extra cabin room as well.
