Someone I sailed with many years ago was rather amused by a boat in a nearby berth called "Brown Bomber".
It seemed to have some meaning to him.... but I think he was getting confused with "brown hatter".

Amusing Names.

We used to hear a boat called "Shy Talk" forever wittering away on the VHF. I've never heard so many requests for "Radio Check" from a single vessel!

Still mildly amusing though...

Remember Ronnie Barker's 'Porridge'... ? Norman Stanley Fletcher you will go to prison...
In a local marina there used to be a Fletcher speedboat with the name
'Norman Stanley' painted on the transom..:D :D

I quite like Two Degrees, funded from the guys savings when both of his kids decided not to go to Uni.

Lucky bugger

Told the tale that a keen racer showed his latest pride and joy to his wife Ruth. She wanted a cruising boat not a racer and replied "I am never going on that". He named the boat Ruthless!

Bootle Bumtrinket was Gerald Durrell's boat in "My family and other animals". It was built for him by one brother, Leslie, who wanted to call it Bootle, and sneered at by the other brother (Laurence) who suggested BumTrinket, so Gerry called it both.

I always liked this one for the name of my band. As it also has a nautical feel maybe it would suit somebody here who has a yearning for the distant waterways of Europe: Far Canal.
