A freind asked me what this was and why:

I told him about the Sealegs Ribs but couldn't shed any other light on the vessel.
If you look it seems that the 'tracks' retract into the hull like aircraft undercarriage.
Anyone know the story?

no idea
doesnt look like the bow wheel retracts but probably just rotates like a castor

I think you will find that the bow wheel folds up, seen it there myself but don't know any more.

I can help on this. The boat is from Hill Head and was built by the owner from scratch. We are on a shingle beach at Hill Head and it goes up and down the beach with ease which a Sealegs has been shown not to do. I used to launch a Zodiac 550 with the aid of a Land Rover and winch, this boat does it all on its own. It brilliant he stores it in his garden and is in and out of the water at high and low tides in minutes. The catapillar wheels do retract into the boat.
