I've just been across Plymouth Sound on a grockle boat. There were 7 AC boats out and we passed pretty close to their practice area. Even so it was hard to see much so I think anyone up on the surrounding hills is going to be pretty disappointed.

I might take the boat out and see if I can anchor close to the course but if it doesn't happen I won't be too upset.

As for watching the Olympics - forget it, stay home and watch TV.

We will be there but I don't really know why.
Cos the weather is not looking good.
Might watch from the Hoe with binoculars or like you might try and anchor the seaward side of the Bridge or maybe between Drakes and Millbay.
Of course never tried anchoring in these positions before.

Might go down and take a look on the boat some time next week, but the closing Sunday looks interesting entertainmentwise on the Hoe: Fisherman's Friends, followed by Mad Dog Mcrea.
Should be a good evening.

We were this close (and closer still in some other pic's I've got)

I liked Chris Draper's comment on Breakfast TV, that until now the AC has been sailed in "caravans".
Not sure I agree, but he should know what he's talking about.
