I see it as more Ratcliffe having fallen out with Athena, now needing to make it Ben’s fault that the UK cannot have 2 teams.

What was the disagreement about?I read the yachting world Article - does seem Ratcliffe has had a bit of a tantrum as he’s not got is way.
That leaves me none the wiser. Presumably there must have been some significant point of disagreement between them
Could it be the Squadron? But then, faced with a choice between Ineos and Athena, ie Ben, Dylan and the lads, which would you pick to be challenger? Money may well be easier to find than that sort of talent and experience. That leaves me none the wiser. Presumably there must have been some significant point of disagreement between them
I’m imagining something like the scene in Pulp Fiction where Winston Wolf (Harvey Keitel) is barking out orders to Vincent (John Travolta) and Jules (Samuel L Jackson).Could it be the Squadron? But then, faced with a choice between Ineos and Athena, ie Ben, Dylan and the lads, which would you pick to be challenger? Money may well be easier to find than that sort of talent and experience.
This seems to be the big unknown. Or more accurately, those that know aren’t saying. What was the disagreement about?
At some point it was said that Radcliffe wanted to take charge of the whole team/company but Ainsley said no.This seems to be the big unknown. Or more accurately, those that know aren’t saying.
that said… Ratcliffe’s insistence that he would continue with a challenge after the split with Athena, and after the Squadron confirmed that Athena were their challenger, never really made any sense to me. So I’m still putting it as “Ratcliffe needs someone to blame, can’t just go quietly”.
What is becoming more concerning is the amount of time that has lapsed since the split with INEOS without a title sponsor announcement from Athena.
By chauffeurs mostlyI’m not, and never will be or could be a member, but I know quite a few, some of them quite well. Quite driven people, very often.
There's really not much competition. The only chance of GB being competitive is with the team that Ben has put together - but Radcliffe does also bring something in the shape of engineering expertise from Mercedes F1Could it be the Squadron? Radcliffe will be there, wearing his invisibility cloak. You never see them both in the same room at the same time…
