Amazing or what?

No, what is really amazing is that you could tear yourself away to post here /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

My ageing (Windows '95/ Pentium 166) PC can't handle the video player. Any chance of its being shown live on BBC1? No, of course not, they're repeating the rowing Gold medal for about the 100th time! BBC - dontcha love em?

Not today but (according to the TV guide in the Daily Mail) tomorrow (Sun) at 9:20pm they're showing the final races in the Laser and Europe classes on BBC1.

And don't knock the rowers - all gold medals gratefully received /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

It was on BBC interactive, if you have digital TV then you can chose from a number of feeds.

But agree that despite the great sucess it has very little coverage. There is only 1 sailing feed a day so today we got to the the finn, but there is no coverage of the 470.

Anyway great to see Ben take the gold today! :-)

Just been having an argument with someone who says he should have tried to come nearer the top rather than just defend his position relative to Spain. Personally I dont agree, after al what would everyone have said if he went for line honours today and broke somthing and lost the gold!?

I never have and I never will. I went to a rowing school. But when some sports win a gold medal the entire BBC operation goes into overdrive:- interviews with girlfriends; spend 20 minutes on the medal ceremony; endless repeats.... and when sailing wins a Gold we're lucky to see the opening 30 seconds and the final 30 seconds of the final race.

Don't forget that the beeb have to take the one feed of the day as provided by the Olympic organisers. Its been great so far on digital - don't knock it or they might take it off!

my understanding is that they get feed of all the events, and then choose what to show, hence every day there has been one constant feed of sailing, which is why we can see it on the extra digital channel, but they choose to not show much of it on main channel.

Oh well at least we could see it, and more imprtantly they are doing so well! :-)
