Can't believe how young Max Aitkin looks in the clip. I knew him in the late 60s and early 70s when he ran the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes. I was always a Marshall on that event, great fun, great times.

Raymond Baxter is sadly missed at the ADLS laying up and fitting out suppers, his wit and delivery was outstanding.
TV presenters of today should try and copy him, on the 2000 return he made a quick tour of the fleet and picked up snippets from each crew, when introducing us to the Duke of Edinborough he would bring them out making for a more personel chat with the Duke.
