In support of the British Heart Foundation charity bike ride - MDL Marinas is kindly offering a preferential overnight berthing rate at Ocean Village Marina of £20 per boat to all YBW forum members attending the ‘Beer & Natter’ at the Royal Southampton Yacht Club on June 6th. *All monies collected will be donated to the BHF* Please contact me as one of the event organisers to secure your place. The number of berths are limited and I will advise when the places available have been taken.

If that wasn't enough, MDL are also able to offer a preferential rate for the Friday night 'to these same boats' if they wish to come to Ocean Village before the event – a discount of 50% will apply, payable to MDL (not passed on to the charity).

I think you'd agree that MDL have been simply superb whilst making arrangements for the ride, raising a significant amount through their Just Giving Team page with their contribution continuing to grow, entering 6 riders in the event, hosting the start and finish of the ride and looking after riders once successfully completing the course with a BBQ and a well deserved beer. As per the title, simply amazing and I hope some of you benefit from this latest show of support by taking them up on their offer and indeed helping celebrate the event in the RSYC.

Colhel will be updating shortly regarding the Beer and Natter and raffle/auction within this thread.

In the meantime please PM me if you are interested or require further details, as said, these heavily discounted visitor berth spaces are limited in number so get in quick :)

Cheers Gary

Off subject a little, but we moved our boat to MDL Chatham yesterday, & first impressions are very good, a very professional outfit it would appear.
Glad they are supporting you guy's.

Yep, and a huge thanks to Gary for negotiating all this. Great commitment from you Gary!

I'd love to get Rafiki there, but a bit of a trip from Portishead unfortunately.

Hi Gary,
Yes, nice to hear MDL supporting.

OV is close to us at Shamrock Quay so we can always get back to base. As per your suggestion, that OV might be full that weekend, it's worth remembering that Shamrock and Saxon are only 5 mins away in a taxi if there are some late entries.

Hope to see you there.
Roger.

Good for MDL. Goodwill goes a very long way. They'll doubtless be monitoring this thread so I for one can say that their attitude will influence my future decisions. Marginal, because I wont go where i dont want to go, but i imagine significant when scaled.

Hi Gary, that really is very kind of MDL. Unfortunately I'm working that weekend, but I'll happily pay my £20 berthing fee direct to you next time I see you mate..... All for a good cause.

Great offer from MDL and really shows they are right behind the event. I have seen the back stage effort their team are putting into this right from the girls and guys on site measuring banners, cooking bbq's and cakes and generally making sure it works through to the guys that are joining us on the ride.

Really looking forward to 6th June now. just need to raise a little more money for the cause!

Saw the banner at harbour lights today. Very pro.

Sorry I cannot support in person, but family wedding is a 3 line whip.
