Some of us can search very well, but simply aren't interested in this twaddle

Now, what boating stories can you tell us. Interesting ones please. Have you ever been boating? Municipal boating lake would do.

If sarcasm is to be effective it needs to be applied with a degree of expertise. Unfortunately yours wasnt but I will still answer your question. Oyster 65 which I own, live on and operate commercially ( 3 masted sailyboat thinggy so shouldnt really be here!) based several thousand miles from where you are, Qualified to YM (Ocean) and beyond, 35 years commercial based experince. So whats your CV - 2 summers coastal in a round the bay speed boat, wasn't it?
And I have stories that range from piracy to having to deliver a baby on-board
Your turn

"so shouldnt really be here" - actually I disagree - I'd love to hear some stoires from the "deep" ........

and if you could pm me with a net searching lesson I'd be grateful as well.

p.s no sarcasm intended - as I don't have a degree in expertise only a BSc in Production Engineering.

Do you know my wife? In fact are you my wife? I ask for a bit of help and all I get is a lecture as to how stupid I am.

Dont worry - there are lots of rude individuals around. Apparently, this one thinks that an Oyster 65 and 35 years of commercial experience excuses bad manners.

Oh dear.......

.........scratch a bloke even slightly and it all comes tumbling out. Defensiveness, agression etc etc etc. I was on the point of telling BrendonS the piracy story but if your goin' to be nasty I'll cut straight to the 'how I delivered a baby' bit And you don't really want that do you!! /forums/images/icons/smile.gifAnd as for searching the net its all a question of knowing where to look for any particular story. Certain parts of the world have a more than healthy interest in some subjects, others........ Cant teach you(and Google wont help you) just comes with experience
And Birdseye, dont be a prat all your life - contribute something other than just knocking.

Re: Oh dear.......

As i said in my last post, 'I didn't find out from the Internet!!!'

I heard it from Somebody who works for 'The News International (Newspaper) Group'!!!

And i certainly don't need a lesson on how to search the Internet, Thankyou very much.!!

Re: Oh dear.......

Hang on Alistairr. Are you saying there is nothing yoiu can learn about accessing the net? Wish I was that confident. I assume you wouldnt take the same stance over boating matters (would you?) I agree the substance of faustinas post even if I dont go much on the tone. So come on faustina, share your knowledge. I'm prepared to keep learning - anything about everything.

Re: Oh dear.......

I certainly did not mean to give the impression, That i knew everything there is to know!!!

And as for confidence and learning on sailing matters, then if you look at the reply i wrote to Powerskippers 'How long have you been Boating?' that should answer the question!!!

I am always prepared to learn, But didn't like the tone of Fautinas post.

Faustina seems a bit of a miserable old billy - no mates judging by the tone of other posts as well

Dont know that your right about being too small BB. They dont all have to be Tall Ships like The Sir Winston Churhill. We moored close to a very attractive 3 masted sailyboat a few weeks and that wasnt anything over 42ft. Two big ones and a little one aft (mizen?). Had a very attractive lady owner who also wasnt anything over 42. Perhaps thats why I remember it so well /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
