I have always antifouled my own boats. This year now we have two very small kids and can barely move from the exhaustion of nappies, no sleep and an ever growing plastic invasion of toys in the house.........I am considering paying for the boat (38ft) to be given her new bottom.

Is this wrong.

The trick is to rope in the kids. Not sure if they can walk yet, but can't they at least be trained to shin up ladders? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
 
I'm not saying all yards are guilty but I've seen some very poor jobs done by some. Main issues will be paint thickness, paint quality, smothness, application or non application in right areas, priming and so on. What you will get is dependant on the yard and its manager and the man who does it.
 
Don't know if this is John or Nicola posting! But whichever it is, I recommend you tell the other that you are going to antifoul the boat and it could take a few weeks. Then get the boatyard to antifoul while you sit quietly away from babies, nappies, toys, etc, drinking copious quantities of tea, enjoying the quiet and catching up on your zzzzzz's! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
