Just read the following on Saint Ellens web site

"The wind is coming from around 250 degrees, I just need 15 degrees more [ie from the west] to allow us to gybe and head north to try and get through the front that keeps moving slowly north," said Ellen. "But just shifted back into the SSW - it's a mess." Hopefully, relief will come soon allowing B&Q to gybe on to port and head north."

If she wants to head North why not sail North? - with wind from 250 even I could manage that.

If she is intending to gybe presumably she is sailing between 070 and 160 - why?

Clearly there is more to sailing multihulls than I thought. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
