Aluminium corrosion

I am looking for a paint type product that when painted onto an aluminium mast will protect it from corrosion caused by a ss fitting. I think this has been mentioned bdfore but I cannot find it.
Any ideas?

Duralac paste is the compound usually mentioned (contains barium chromate)

what is the best thing to clean off Duralac paste ? I have just used it and am having trouble cleaning it off the mast without scratching the anodising ?

[/ QUOTE ] Don't know. I take it that a scraper made of something that won't scratch the aluminium is no good (I'm thinking plastic or hardwood).

I'd try the usual range of solvents. Paraffin, white spirit, petrol maybe, meths, acetone, cellulose thinners, antifouling thinner, paint stripper. Don't use a caustic soda based paint stripper though as that may not do the anodising any favours. try a methylene dichloride based material such as Nitromors. Keep it off the gelcoat though.
