Alternator Woes

Pas? power steering? Confused ere! OK I get the annoying alarm point though.
Yes we run gensets very often when underway, sometimes 10 hours/day non stop. Plenty of boats (MYAG's for example) need gensets the whole time while underway. Perfectly normal

Apologies, not PAS. There are 2 drive belts, and as access is not the easiest, I assumed the second belt was for a pas pump. Looks like it is for a water pump.

Well a huge thanks to Spare Thyme, as I now have an alternator. Just need to recover the old one (story for a rainy day) for the pulley, and get it on Rafiki, then juggle work and weather window to get going.
