Alternator question

So quick question I have a dead alternator (long story......) need to pull the anchor tomorrow and not sure the batteries have enough juice to do it.

So the question is can I have the engine running while running the generator to juice the batteries?

I'm assuming so as the alternator isn't producing so there will be no conflict. Is that right?

Nothing to stop you running the engine while the generator is also running, even if the alternator is charging.
