I had a Balmar alternator and a Balmar 612 regulator. The Alternator is in for repairs and I have a Valeo 60amp 12 v A13N234 which I need to put in place in the interim. The Valeo has four terminals on the case : B+ B- D+ and W Can anyone enlighten me as to how to connect them. I presume the B+ goes to the Battery and the B- is the ground. if the D+ is the field where does it connect to. The W I have ascertained is for the tacho. Please Help

Hi, and welcome to the forums. You're right about B+, B- and W. The D+ needs to be connected to the ignition switch, so that it gets 12v when the ignition is on. If you look at the alternator end of the wiring loom on your 612 regulator, you should see a brown wire. This is the corresponding connection to the D+. Disconnect the brown wire and connect D+ to whatever the brown wire was connected to.
