Alternator question / Sterling Regulator.

Hi
I have a Mando alternator on my 1998 Mercruiser V8.
I'm trying to work out the wires on the rear. I'm happy with the live and Neutral, but i have two extra wires a Purple wire to a connection marked " EXC" and a pink/purple connection to terminal marked " S ".
Hope someone can help as i'm trying to wire a sterling reg.

If you are unsure about wiring up the Stirling regulator call Stirling Technical help line. I bought one of their regulators las summer and the wiring diagram that came with it did not give all the information that was required. Alternatively if you go on their web site you can down load the full instructions.
