Alternative Volvo Fuel Filters

I've just tried entering my part number ( easily obtained from the Keyparts website) and inlinefilters comes up with a price of £2.70 plus VAT, so that's a grand total of £3.24 vs almost £20 from Volvo or £18 from Keyparts !

Take off your old belt and take it in to Halfords or your local motor factor and just measure it up to find the nearest. Widthwise the Volvo belts are slightly narrower, 9.5mm against 10mm for a car belt but this doesn't seem to make much difference. For impellers try Jabscoshop on the internet or a guy on EBay called westerlysailor. He also does kits of spares with generic parts.

I've tried to find an alternative to the Volvo Penta Engine Fuel Filter fitted to my MD22 without success - non of the normal FRAM and other sites seem to list it.

Part number is Volvo Penta 3840335

Anybody have any sugestions - and should I even be thinking of getting a pattern part instead of Volvo Penta

Thanks

Kevin

Please see my recent post on Volvo engine parts and spares. where i recommended an engineering company in Sheffield. They sell Perkins OEM oil filters for £6.00 each. for your engine. I would suggest trhat these are the ones re-badged and sold by Volvo for anything up to £25.00 each

My apologies and correction, they also sell Perkins OEM fuel filters for £6.00 each

I assume you mean http://www.parts4engines.com/ - and if so yes I have bought from them ( although not fitted yet ), they do "oil & fuel filter" for £12.00 http://www.parts4engines.com/volvo-penta-md22-oil-and-fuel-filter-kit/ but I would disagree that they are re-badged as Volvo because the Volvo ones do not have the drain facility

But as a macd says in post 24 the original question was 5 years ago and parts4engines were not advertising then ( and may not have even have existed )
