Altering wet weather gear

Wet weather “oilies” seem to come in one size fits all, now. Has anyone got someone to eg. shorten arms or legs of trousers or jackets, or could recommend someone in the south ? Appreciate it would invalidate warranties.

….well that’s where I live and it would have been useful to take the items along and explain what we’d like done. However you’re not the only person to recommend this Scottish company, so thanks.

If as it seems your problem is oilies you aleready have that are too big, then you could shorten the arms and legs by folding over a section in the middle of the arm or leg to shorten. I imagine you could not easily cut the ends shorter due to complications of cuff sealing. User glue to fold down excess cloth. Perhaps even a pleat in the middle of the back to reduce torso size. Just a thought ol'will

Best done between elbow and wrist or knee and ankle as there is often re-enforcement at elbow / knee.
