Alloy Cleats

The alloy cleats on my boat are looking a bit tired. Does anyone any tips for cleaning them, ordinary metal polish seems to have very little effect?

The alloy cleats on my boat are looking a bit tired. Does anyone any tips for cleaning them, ordinary metal polish seems to have very little effect?

Are they anodised ? If so polishing may remove it then they will corrode even quicker and look awful .

800 wet and dry, used wet, followed by a good metal polish, followed by hard wax.
