All the antifoul and polishing done and new stainless letters some pics

Well we got all the antifoul and polishing done over 4 days last weekend ready for the season

we also fitted some new stainless lettering to the boat

d4 has been very good only a couple of minor issues and its 4 years old now with 55k on the clock loads of room for the family when traveling to the boat 500 mile round trip

Ouch!! 500 miles that's a long long way to travel each time you want to get to do some boating. I used to manage about 250 round trip and thought that was too much..
At least you have a comfortable car in which to endure the trip.
Who has the furthest round trip I wonder and who has the shortest?

every time I pass junc 19 of the m5 I think that bloody rafiki would be at his boat now and I have another 2 hrs nearly lol

Not sure I'd cope with a 250 mile run to the boat however... well the trip back TBH, I'd be tempted not to bother going home! I'll put my hat in the ring for shortest trip - about 2" from house wall (Unfortunately another 2 miles to the briny)

I feel there's going to be some great trip reports this summer too.

If I drive to the boat (which in fairness, is only once a year) it's about 850m each way. Last year, because of snow on the motorway in northern France, it took 32 hours to get there...

8 minutes drive, 10 minutes walk but 4 minutes on my push bike.

Then it's a 2 day river cruise to the coast.

flippin heck you cant argue with that, thats only an hour longer than it takes me on a medi oka day to get to Weymouth, I will be there in a couple of years

time to my boat

on a really good day / night traveling far to fast risking a speeding ticket all the way 3 hrs 15 mins

normal journey average day 4 hrs

Friday / sunday night 5 hrs

worst trip yet 6 week holls last year 10 hrs

That's why we're at Portishead Shawn. 2 hours on a bad day. We used to haul over to the Norfolk Broads where we had our first cruiser, but it was 3-4 hours, and we just got fed up with it.
