All Medway Locks on Hand Wind Only

Yeah, but they only pay about .50p for registration on the Merdeway.....

.some are reluctant to pay even that :)

Overall length not exceeding 7.6m = £32.14 per metre
Overall length exceeding 7.6m = £32.14 per metre up to 7.6 metres plus £28.82 per metre in excess of 7.6 metres up to 11 metres
Over 11 metres (37ft) in length £346.72
includes ALL craft in both marinas and backwaters etc .................

Have heard rumours that Medway is changing to Thames volume calculation or that Thames is changing to payment on length alone, to get parity in systems.
Suspect/expect complaints from narrowboat owners. ?

Ye olden dayes

Scan of page from " Waterways of the Home Counties" 1965. IWAP
Might be of interest that you could buy a pass from several private companies with interests on the river as well as from river staff.
It also mentions that..
the right of navigation does not give the right to moor on any bank that is part of private property
but
That mooring is permitted to any towpath bank provided the rope does not cross the footpath.
So how come most fishing clubs are allowed to prevent mooring in stretches of water they rent even if on the towpath side ?

Sorry but no idea how to get correct orientation
