Just sat down to watch all at sea and disappointed to find, much like other similar programs about boats you hardly see one, far too much time spent on land and doing things totally unrelated. The boating we did see was good and the characters fun to watch so in general enjoyable, lets hope the following episodes spend more time on the water.

Me an swmno watched too
She liked it (Not too boaty!)
As TV boaty stuff goes I think it was good.
Nice fishing vessel and a proper 'Gentleman's Cruiser'!

You just can't 'do' a boaty Prog only
Most peeps would be bored

Oops, pushed the wrong button!
As I was 'saying'
A Total boaty theme would go right above most viewers heads.
Looks like the next Gig will include saily stuff
Over to Scuttlebutt for next week's comments!

Looks like we were both posting at the same time. I think motor boating is about visiting places and doing stuff on land. The big difference from raggies is, we can visit loads of places in a day. We dont have to stick doggedly to the direct route. Loads of places can be visited, that we may not be able to spend the night. I've moored in Looe and Polpero for an hour or two. Both lovely places for a pint.

The prog does not seem to understand, that it's just a gentle cruise, from one overnight total safety berth to the next. Only 20 miles or so. In between there are loads of other places to visit, nearly all with deap water and few tidal constraints.

I thought it was much better than the stupid 3 Men in a Boat series. Being pickie there were a few "shots" that seemed to be out of historical order but overall impression of W.Country was well done.
A warning:- Hotel where the helicopter landed was Buckland Tout Saints. Went there for a light lunch last Summer - Sandwiches - very poor. The place seemed like it had seen better days.

Yep the continuity, did not make any sence. But three men in a boat was dire. Duno why they cant say, folk are doing this all the time.

I know in the past, the West Country has been given the image of rocks
and pirates. In reality there are hardly any.

I would not bother with a pirate, it cost my auntie a fortune to buy one, plus the cage, she could never get it to talk.

Apart from the boaty bits of which there were all too few, I thought it was excruciatingly awful, embarassing almost, the way the prog chucked together a few Z list celebs (I recognised just one) and told them to be all pally and matey with each other. It was also dissapointing to see that the gentleman's motorboat thingy didn't venture out into the same kind of seas that the trawler went out in. That would have smashed a few champagne flutes. Sorry to get down to basics but the burning question in my mind was whether Madeley shagged the dark haired bimbo because she was getting all gooey eyed about him

I really couldn't agree more....... I was looking forward to it and thought what total toss it all was. Apart from the boats & the view of Devon/Cornwall, nothing at all interesting going on!!

I enjoyed it - but I live around Fowey/Talland/Polperro so it was interesting for me. It was never going to be about boats though. I think coast was better.

I do recall seeing the white boat in Fowey harbour recently.

Blimey, where have you been then? There's plenty of rocks in the bits that I know?!!
