Where does it say "water resistant"?

On in store printed special offers flier it says "Waterproof up to 1m" That might of course be 1msec.

Excuse an old fogey BUT what does sym free mean. Does it mean you put your existing sym card in?

It means that it's not tied to a network so you can put any sim in and it will work. Often the subsidised phones form say Orange will only take an Orange sim.

Decided I needed a Smart Phone instead, so these are now on the For Sale forum. Charged, but otherwise unused.

Correct, they are not 3G. Being splash proof they are ideal for a spare phone on the boat, especially if overseas.
