Aldi Cable Access Kit

Why would you push a cable up a mast?
Not push, pull. If you have a mast lying down on trestles, and you want to insert cables or halyards, you need something to pull them through. When I had to do it I used a set of drain rods, but because they were a bit shorter than my mast I had to add a length of stiff wire on the end. If I'd been able to get a cable access kit for £7 I'd have used that - brilliant bit of kit.

It's just a set of tent poles, I've got loads of them already. :p

They are thinner and more flexible than any tent poles I've ever seen, and they screw together like drain rods - can be important since, as you pull them through, they can tend to catch. They also come with a more flexible end piece that is important to help them pass tight bends - a plain tent pole would tend to jam instead of following the curve.

Worth pointing out that, if your mast is longer then the 10m of this kit, there is nothing to stop you joining two kits together.

Some Aldi stuff is very, very good;
some is good,
some is......

You have to use a bit of nous - or perhaps "do I feel lucky".

My rule - don't pay near the going rate, 'cos it might be carp, but if it's cheap, then what the hell...

I've only been disappointed a few times!
