Outline plan for the Bank Holiday weekend includes being in Alderney on Sunday 2nd June - when England kick off their World Cup campaign!
I've considered unscrewing the Sky dish off the side of the house and lashing it to the mast but this idea has been rejected by SWMBO.
So...I'm now looking for a pub/restaurant/bar/private house that will be showing the match (Kick off at 10:30 am).

Can anyone offer any suggestions or advice (beyond "get a life") ???

Best pub for hat is Campagnia top of st annes past the courier restaurant say hello to Tina and book sunday lunch then turn right past the chinese and its on yer left. Always go there to watch grand prix.

I think most places wil have a tv tho. Also try the marais inn turn right instead of left and got past le cocqs to the square.

Any other info let me know. The marais does good grub also.

Hmm What a very interesting opinion you have regarding "plebs" entering the world of Yachting - I will also be in the channel islands around this time and so the info above is useful and for info I am no "pleb" - does that mean that the tens of millions of people from the UK who will be watching/following our national side are "plebs" and are unwelcome into Yachting circles?! - appologies but I feel that elitist narrow minded views like this can only damage sailings reputation

Don't worry about it Mark.
I've long realised that you get some daft sods on this board - best just to ignore them. Fortunately this place is also enhanced by the presence of many helpful and entertaining sods as well (as illustrated by many of the replies above).

Don't know why you're all so keen to watch the game guys. Judging by the number of injuries you lot have got , it'll be Engalnd's reserves playing the Swedes - and you're first team would have trouble beating them !!!!!!

Just checked your site - you're an ugly sod, but your sister's ok!

Though I'm not a great football fan since Nobby Stiles hung up his boots, I too will be following our national side and if that makes me a pleb then there's a lot of us out there. Don't let them get you down, wish I was sailing this weekend.
