I'd like to visit Alderney for a few days arriving tomorrow July 8th.
In the upcoming forecast it looks like there will be some periods with NE winds up to F4.
I'm aware that Bray is open to this direction, but given the generally settled conditions and prevailing swell from the west, I'd be interested in others experiences and predicitions.

Can you still anchor up in the NE corner which beats rafting up on a buoy rolling by the breakwater and does the chandleystill run a water taxi servic?
Water Taxi is solid and runs to closing time. Was there twice this year. Cannot comment about the NE F4 as never been there for that although I would suggest it would be bumpy. We had other things going on with waves smashing over the sea wall. The resultant swell from this made the tender sketchy. Had we have known we would have used the taxis. I was fine getting off but we returned to a different world!Edit.jpg

We were there a few weeks ago and had the tail end of some storm swell creating 4m waves that were forming tubes as they crossed the submerged breakwater. We were on the very end bouy where it was a bit rolly. TS Tenacious was anchored in the middle of the bay but the Westerly wind was holding them across the swell and they decided to leave during the night. Further in was a bit better for swell although there was a lot of water in the air as the waves crashed against the harbour wall

I’m there right now, have been for a few days. The swell is constant but acceptable on the moorings. The anchorage is about the same so worth considering. Water taxi is £2pp each way so take the dinghy! Water is freezing but the beach is still nice
