I have a problem with my gas system. No gas is getting through to either my stove or my Propex heater. There is gas in the cylinder and it is exiting the regulator. The gas is propane so temp is not an issue. The only place i can see there might be a blockage is in the Alde leak detector. Is this likely. Does the Alde have a jet in it that could get blocked. The only other possibility is that all the jets on the stove and in the heater are blocked. Is this likely? The system was working fine at the end of last season. Any suggestions welcomed

It's just a thought, but in PBO no. 483 (March 2007) page 77, there is an article about this sort of problem, so could be worth a look. I don't know if the person posted on here, but he described similar symptoms to yourself and the reply stated something about plasticiser in the connecting hose leaching out as a result of exposure to LPG, and it's more common in new hose than old. Hope this helps. Have a good Easter on the water.

This doesn't quite fit in with your description of the problem but you did ask for any suggestions!

I am currently upgrading my gas installation including a new regulator, alarm, solenoid cut off switch and Alde bubbler. I wanted to fit the modern bulkhead mounted regulator and whilst researching these I came across this web page. I asked the Southampton Calor Gas centre about this problem (oily gunge in the high pressure pigtail hose and regulator) and they said it hadn't been reported in boats so far. If you have a high pressure hose leading to a bulkhead mounted Euro regulator then this might be your problem. The gas exiting the regulator may be insufficient to operate your heater and cooker. If you don't have this set-up then it is probably something else!

Unfortunately there isn't an exploded diagram of the Alde bubbler in the pack so I don't know what is inside.

haven't_a_clue pipped me to it!
