I'm going to be in Alcudiamar later in the year, so looking for any cruising recommendations. Don't want to go far as cruising grounds have to adhere to the patience of 4 year old. Ideally just nice calm anchorage. May me as late in the year as October. Does anyone have any experience of Majorca late in the season? I know it will have cooled down a lot but surely an improvement from the UK as we've had sunny Octobers there before.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

October is flipping a coin weather wise. I have had 2 great ( 1 exceptional ) and 1 washout.

Bear in mind the top of the island is always a bit more windy in any event

Agreed but one of the best cruises we have ever had was a circumnavigation of the island at the very end of October - several years ago.
EDIT - sorry my post first said August - I meant October
I remember flying home on the 5th November so thats how late it was.

So, don't write that time of the year off - however, that top of the island and Menorca can get the edge of mistrals blowing in the Gulf of Lions.

I agree. As I said I have had 2 good and 1 bad.

Thanks for the replies.

Looks like a bit of a gamble with the weather, but with local anchorages it's never far back to the berth.

Like others have said, we've been before in October/November and had a mix of brilliant days and a few rainy. Generally better than Blighty though!
