I don't moor in Alcudia but we've visited by boat a few times. Yup, some of the fairways are a bit tight, especially for the moorings less than 15m, and parking your boat can be a bit buttock clenching if there's any wind, which there often is, and there's usually a shore side audience willing you to cock it up /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
MartynK has moved on now and I think Meddreamer is the only forumite left there
 
Yip, excellent beach and lots for the kids to do.

North of Alcudia is a lovely cruising area - can get a bit windy mind.

We moved into Alcudiamar Mallorca last May and have just renewed for another year.
We are at the end of Pontoon 4, about 12 or so boats from Medreamer. MartynK sold his boat last year.
The berths on P4 are designed for 10 x 3.5 but needless to say some boats are 11m. The fairways are a little tight especially when the bow mooring lines run forward (as well as the anchors protruding !). Bit un-nervng at first but you get used to it. When your visiting marinas you do sometimes struggle to find your overnight berth as the adjoining boats have closed the gap. Does mean your tend to swing less though.
We were onboard last week and weekend so a pity you didnt post beforehand as I would have been happy to do a guided tour for you.

As others have said we are based in Alcudia, Richard (Mont) is the only other forumite there as far as I know.

I glad you enjoyed it, we have grown to love the place. That part of the island is a bit windier than the South - you may have noticed a much higher number of rag & sticks than elsewhere - which can bit frustrating but once out on the water it is a fabulous cruising ground.

The port and marina are friendly places - the marineros (marina staff) are great and there some good restaurants in and amongst some not so good ones - Deleted User rates the chateaubriand at Meson Dulcina as amongst the best he's had (and he likes his steak our Mike).

The marina take a more relaxed attitiude with their tape measure than some other places, which can make some of the berths a bit tight but you soon get used to stern to mooring. Having learnt to berth in the confines of Windermere Marina Village there seems like acres of space between the pontoons.

It may lack the glamour of some of the other ports on the island, but for us it works briiliantly, glad you enjoyed it. We are selling up so may not be there much longer but if you decide on a return trip please let us know and if we are about it would be nice to meet up.

That's true. We occasionally drive all the way from Palma to eat there when Mrs Deleted User feels the need to gorge herself on red meat
