thanks for your help with info on the Hurley.
I was looking by chance at an albin viggen somewhere in denmark and it seemed to be a suitable boat. My wife thinks the hurley a bit small so we are back to looking for a seaworthy boat under 8 metres .the hurley 24 seems interesting also and the contessa 26 but the budget is small.

Its a smaller version of the albin Vega, it's 23', built in Sweden.

Hurley 24 has much more room in it than any of the other boats you mentioned .Also good headroom,about 5foot ten inches If I remember correctly.

We owned one for about 4 years a while ago,it proved reasonably fast for a cruiser,and a capable boat in bad weather.
