Previous set up on my boat was a 60amp alternator and an external Sterling regulator. I had a fault where the battery warning lamp stayed on and the volt meter wouldn't show an increase from 12v when the engine was running. The Sterling regulator model is now discontinued and the alternator looks in a sad state. I've purchased a 100amp alternator and intend to do away with an external regulator. I'm sort of starting again.
I've removed the dash and brought it home.

Is there a way of testing everything at home before fitting it to the boat?

The above might be a bit vague.
The engine is a tamd41a.
I'm not looking at testing the alternator but checking I've got the wiring correct and if anything on the dash could be tested ( acu for instance) at home.
