A lot of vessels have wrong info. Yachts seem to default to 33ft but I have seen many ship-sized ones and ships half a mile long.

With the IoW ferries you often see them reversing across the solent between Lymington and Yarmouth having forgot to switch over from stern to bow!

When I looked him up on Vessel Finder yesterday length and beam were not stated. So somebody was probably trying to set up the transponder and gave up!
